KCLSU, or King's College London Students' Union, is the official student body representing the diverse and vibrant student community at King's College London. Established to champion the rights of its members, provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, and foster a sense of community. With its array of clubs, societies, and events, KCLSU ensures that every student finds their niche and feels a sense of belonging during their time at the university.
The Problem
KCLSU faced a series of challenges that hindered their Freshers Week initiatives. Wristband sales for the previous year's Freshers Week were incredibly low, pointing to a lack of enthusiasm or awareness among the incoming students. Compounding this issue was the noticeable absence of social media content, resulting in minimal engagement on their platforms. This lack of online presence directly translated to a disappointingly low turnout at the previous years Freshers Week events.
Our Solution
Whilst adhering to KCLSU's strict branding guidelines, we tailored our designs to seamlessly align with the established identity of the institution. This included using only their designated fonts and colours in our designs to ensure brand consistency. In response to the challenges faced by our client, we orchestrated a comprehensive approach to turn things around. We initiated by supplying a steady stream of engaging social media content, leading to an immediate surge in online interactions and creating a heightened social awareness about the upcoming events of Freshers Week. Our efforts yielded tangible results: all events at Guy's were fully booked, while those at Strand achieved an impressive 80% sale rate. Additionally, all non-alcoholic bundles were sold out also, underscoring the diversified appeal of our promotional strategy. A testament to the effectiveness of our intervention, this year's sales skyrocketed, showing a remarkable 300% increase compared to the previous year.
